Jonq

Jonq: the name is short for jonquille which in French means daffodil. This is an acid etched goose egg using the classical technique whereby the entire surface of the egg is etched. The motif continues right around the egg and is different all over, making the egg suitable for a centerpiece as well as shelf display.

The unique surface effect was achieved by painting the etched egg with a dye which highlighted the natural porosity of the shell. the color is a sort of pale violet/beige.

This unique egg by artist Bob Brightman is available for $50.00 plus shipping.  Email the artist to arrange purchase or for more information.
